Paper Arts Update Week of June 24th

Hello friends!  I truly hope that this email finds you safe and healthy.

This week I'm asking each of you to vote for us in the Oklahoman's Reader's Choice Awards.  You can vote daily from each of your devices (ie phone, ipad, computer, etc..).  Check out Paper Arts. The Oklahoman 2020 Readers' Choice Link to Vote

The numbers here in Oklahoma for Covid are rising daily by the hundreds so we will continue to shop by appointment.  This week's appointment availability is here.  You can easily sign up by clicking on the Shopping Appointment link.  If there is not a time/date listed then that means there are no available appointments left then.

We are also still doing curbside pickups.  So if you need to pick up an order you've placed, just give us a shout the day before and we will have your order ready.  When you arrive if you will call us and let us know that you are outside I will run it out to your vehicle.

July's Classes have been published and are now available for sign up.  As a reminder, all classes are done virtually through a secure link.  When you sign up for the class, arrangements are made to get your kit to you and then the link to log in to the class is sent the night before the class (although the link doesn't work or go live until class time).  It's a two way conference so you can easily see and hear me and I can see and hear the class attendees so I can help walk you through the projects.   You can see details and sign up for these classes here: Class Details and Sign Up

Things are Heating Up at Paper Arts....Summer is Here

It's no big secret that summer is NOT my favorite season.  This body hasn't been in a bathing suit in over 7 years and although I do love the bright colors and stuff, the heat just wipes me out and I can't stay outside for long or else I get sick.  It's just one of those icky side effects of autoimmune issues and 2 strokes.  It just isn't a good time for me.  BUT, I LOVE to make Summer projects.  So there is always a lot of crafting going on (in the nice cool a.c. for me!).  And I can't wait to share some of the HOT summer projects and products coming to the store (or already there).

Shopping at Paper Arts

Unfortunately the Covid numbers are going up quite a bit here in Oklahoma which means that we are going to continue our shopping by appointment through the rest of June and probably most of July at the very least.  BUT let me mention some benefits of shopping by appointment that some customers have pointed out and said to me in the past 2 weeks that we have been doing this.

First, scheduling is super easy!  You can go right on our website and schedule your own appointment (the open dates and times are all listed for the rest of June).  Just click on the date and time you want and then "check out" like you would if you were buying something (but it's free!) and you are scheduled.  Each appointment is one hour in length.  If you need more than an hour, just schedule the next appointment too.

Second, I have had several customers tell me that they like the shopping by appointment because doing it this way I limit the number of people in the store at a single time and it is like private shopping.  You can come in and set your purse down and not have to tote it around or worry about it.  You can ask me very specific questions about products (that you may not have asked otherwise) or get my help on a project you have without having to worry about other customers or interruptions.  Think of it is as your own personal time with me to ask me for help or input or whatever.  (If you are going to ask for a demo, it helps if you give me a heads up ahead of time so I can have the items ready.)  For instance, the other day I had a customer who wasn't sure how to heat emboss. She had seen it done but just had never done it herself.  She asked me if I could help her with it and show her how.  She scheduled her appointment and I walked her through how to emboss. The second shopper in the store also was interested so they both got a private lesson while shopping.

Third, because you are coming in to a clean, wiped down, sanitized store (I spend the time between appointments doing this) with proper social distancing and not a huge crowd and at most there are 3 of us in the store (you, me, and another customer) you can feel safe that your exposure to the virus is being kept to a minimum here.  This virus scares the ever loving crap out of me and if I get sick, there is no store, so I'm very diligent about it.

The link to schedule an appointment is here:  SCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT

As I said earlier, you will receive an email on Thursday morning with the July classes and events and shopping times listed out in it.  All of our classes are going to continue to be done virtually for the remainder of the year and I'm currently testing a new teaching platform that I think everybody will like so hopefully I can take that live in July as well, but if not, we will continue to use Zoom technology for our classes.

Hope each of you are staying safe and healthy.

Paper Arts Updates week of June 8, 2020

The Warden & I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary yesterday.  It was a good day.  Nothing special, just a nice, quiet dinner and then hanging out and playing solitare on our ipads before we went to sleep.  When did we become the old married couple?  LOL.  But, I digress.  These are the moments and the times that are so special and important to journal, scrapbook and document.  The little moments.  The boring moments.  Because when folks look back at 2020 they are going to see the BIG things, the pandemic, the unemployment, the business closures, the school closures, the vacations cancelled, but also don't forget to document, so they can see...that life also just kept happening.  Quiet dinners were still cooked, laundry was still washed and left in a pile to be folded later, walks with the dog were still a regular part of the routine.  Having said all of that, I am working on some fun layout samples for the store that you can come in and purchase the product for, get inspiration from and hopefully document your daily life.  Even, the little things.

***************************************

The first week of shopping by appointment has come and gone and it went really well.  I want to thank everybody who shopped last week and those that are signing up for future shopping appointments.  I have posted the rest of the available appointments for this month on the website and you can sign up easily there.  (Here is the link SIGN UP TO SHOP)  It is free to sign up to shop.  Each appointment is one hour in length, but if you feel you will need longer, you can absolutely sign up for more than one appointment.  If there is not an appointment listed at a time you would like to come, it is because that time spot is already filled and there are no longer any available appointments.  I am still asking that each person wear a mask, properly covering your nose and mouth, while you are in the store and that you use the hand sanitizer provided upon entry.  This is going to be the way we operate for a while.

I am still offering curbside service so if you have an order that you just need to pick up, you can definitely let me know when you are coming (need at least an hour's previous notice), and then when you arrive you can call the store and I will bring your order out to you.  You may have to wait a minute or two if I am helping the appointment person inside but I will get you taken care of as quickly as possible.

New Product in the Store

Somebody made an appointment last week and came in to the store and said, "what is new?"  I laughed because honestly, and you can verify with anybody that has already been in the store to shop, at least 60% of the product is new.  The store has a different layout, and there is so much new product that it would take me forever to list it all.

A brand new collection going out in the morning for the first time is MANLY by Authentique.  It is a gorgeous masculine collection that is just everything that I can imagine to document the men in our lives.

Here's a little sneak peek of what it looks like.  We do have the open stock papers, as well as a few collection kits and paper pads in addition to the matching Spectrum cardstocks that coordinate so beautifully with it.

A collection that I put out on Friday (for those that had appointments earlier in the week, you saw the empty spot on the display for it) is PhotoPlay's We can Just Stay Home collection.  We have it in collection packs and open stock, in addition to the ephemera packs and coloring sheet as well.  Here is a sneak peek of this fun collection.

Again, I encourage you to book an appointment and come see everythign that we have to offer for yourself.  I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
